My business is primarily commercial exhaust cleaning, maintenance, and service. we also do all aspects of hvac, electrical, and disaster remediation (mold, water damage, etc). normal practice requires that a formal report with pictures with a final conclusion, recommendation and then estimate be drafted for the potential client. currently the process we use is very time consuming and inefficient. we have a ms word template that we change the photo to that of the current project and we add text on top and bottom. this system involves a lot of window changing, resizing and often results in the "template" moving and becoming disorganized. what i need is a single program that has room to grow, but has the following ability: - create new project - enter all relevant contact information (name, address, etc) of the potential client - ask for the relevant folder within a shared hard-drive that contains all the photos taken on the new project - once pointed to the correct folder, displays all the photos within that folder. i be able to chose which picture and assign a sequence for that photo will be displayed within the final report... be able to describe some basic reference information above each selected photo and specific technical information bellow the relevant picture. have a separate section for final assessment narrative and another for final recommendations. hit "generate report" and it places all the above information in a template (thats design can be changed or altered if so desired at a later time). i need to have the program give me the ability to change the bit size and physical size of the pictures. what that means is for the most part the photos are taken in high resolution (9 or 10 mp) but the final report seldom requires the pictures to be more than 3mp. in fact, we prefer to reduce the mp so the final product (.pdf) is small enough to be emailed, yet the pictures good enough to get our point across). as for the physical display of the template as it pertains to the photos, we need to have two per page.. the tricky part is... we want the pictures to dominate as much of each page as the added text would allow, yet standardized across the report. meaning, our current program a set a single size for all the photos regardless of the amount of text on top and bottom of each photo, so often we have a large amount of void space that could be used to enlarge the photo. this program would need to be able to determine the largest physical size that any one photo can be within a given report, and make that the size for all the photos within that report. i have other features that would be needed, but these are the basics.
